Directaida’s partner organization JAMBO VOLUNTERS has developed a professional volunteer program aimed at professionals on a career break and students looking to build their experience and CV / Resume. Volunteers will gain valuable international work experience and have the opportunity to really make a difference whilst experiencing the excitement of life in Africa.We are looking for individuals in a number of vocational areas who can pro-actively contribute to the development.Professional volunteer programs will last for a minimum of three months. Start and end dates for each volunteer program will be agreed prior to the commencement of the placement.Fees for volunteer programs will vary according to the amount of time an individual commits.Fees will be decided on a case-by-case basis and support in raising funds can be provided by Directaida Staff.For planning purposes expect to pay estimated 150 Euros a month. The fee will cover accommodation, food and transport to and from the project site. Professional volunteers will be located in the province of Rift Valley,17 km from Ngong Town,Kenya. The volunteers house is a new eco friendly facility with solar and wind powered constant electricity supply, running water

YOUTH LEADERSHIP AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Role & Responsibilities
- The design and implementation of a personal development and leadership development program for all Academy pupils, which utilizes the skills and expertise of existing staff and visiting local and international professionals
- Working with existing staff to develop a yearly work plan for the personal development and leadership program. This will include goals, objectives, activities, timelines, monitoring and evaluation methods and costs
- Developing community reinvestment program with activities that are relevant for pupils and demonstrate the importance of ‘giving back’ to their communities
Experience / Skills Required
- Relevant degree, i.e. Teaching, Youth Work, Psychology
- Previous experience in youth leadership development
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Placement Details
- Placement duration to be a minimum of three months
- References will be required to confirm suitability to work with children
- Role will report to Jambo Volunteers Director
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT
JamboVolunteers is a registered charity in Kenya, US and Spain. As a Business Development Assistant, reporting to the CEO there is an opportunity to work within a small and dynamic fundraising and PR team, assisting with the development of strategies and activities employed by Jambo Volunteers to support a non-profit making project.
In this role there is an opportunity to assist with the delivery of existing fundraising activities and present and lead new fundraising initiatives aimed at achieving self-sustainability and building support, brand knowledge and awareness of Right to Dream.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assisting with the planning, development and evaluation of fundraising ideas designed to support the Academy in the short and long-term
- Assisting with the delivery of fundraising activities designed to meet the Academy’s fundraising targets
- Contributing to the strategic planning of Right to Dream’s activities in the short, medium and long-term
- Assisting with the development of Right to Dream’s PR and media strategy for the UK, US, Ghana and Sierra Leone.
Experience / Skills Required
- Degree in a relevant subject
- Experience of working within a fundraising environment

TEACHER
As a Teacher you will become a part of our small international teaching staff who are committed to offering talented, but deprived children, an opportunity to reach their academic and sporting potential.
Role & Responsibilities
- Teaching your specialist subject to upper and middle classes (teaching periods and library periods)
- Preparing, delivering and evaluating lessons, setting homework, and conducting regular student assessments
- Maintaining up-to-date records of work done and student attainment, liaising with the Head Teacher on a regular basis
- Contributing to, and optionally teaching, lessons in Directaida/Jambovolunteers Skills program
- Offering an activity for the Friday afternoon Activities and Curriculum Enrichment program
- Attending weekly teacher / departmental meetings
