I am Aida~ pronounced /ɑːˈiːdɑː/ ah-EE-dah, an Arabic descend female name meaning “visitor” or “returning”.Also a the name of a famous Opera.I am not Arabic,not Italian nor do I sing Opera, but I think the name is just perfect for me because I am a constant visitor, going and returning to places.
I was born in Ex Yugoslavia and many of you know this country from the news in the ’90s or the name Tito comes to mind. I was born the year Tito died,and because of the Yugoslavian Civil War in the ’90 left Zenica to live up to my name. Moved around Germany, started the new century with a new continent and a new language in the States, and then moved again…this time to a place where strangely I felt most at home

I am a founder of Direct Aid Africa Foundation. We hope to inspire future on site volunteers and/or across the miles sponsors by providing them with helpful project ideas to help educate, inspire and motivate communities in Kenya.
